THE OLIVE FAMILY

Olive came to us very pregnant, from a rescue organization in West Virginia.  She is 3-4 years old, very small, and incredibly sweet.  She had her kittens in our basement, and we got to watch them grow into healthy kittens...Kalamata, Alfonso, and Pimento (in that order from left to right in the first picture below, with mama Olive in the middle).

We had some bumps in the road - Alfonso wasn't breathing when he was born, and needed an emergency airway maneuver to clear his airway of fluid.  And Alfonso had swimmer syndrome - a condition where his legs were splayed outward making it difficult to walk.  But he responded very well to physical therapy and splinting with medical tape.  By 8 weeks, he was walking and running normally.
